Production Update #4
about 6 years ago – Fri, Feb 23, 2018 at 05:32:40 PM

Hi all!

For product development this week, hopefully some of you caught our live demo carried out earlier this week and had the opportunity to ask questions! We’re planning on doing several more of these, so if there’s anything you’d like to see or ask, please just post in the Kickstarter comments.

If you missed it, the key details are:

V2 SuperHub. The launch date will be September 2018 and we're happy to upgrade our backers to this one. This version supports 5GHz Wifi which is makes it more resilient in built up areas and makes it faster on some home wifi setups.

Shipping: The latest update on the valves (with V1 SuperHub) is we're looking towards a Mid-May Shipping date. We've now finished Chinese New Year, but we're starting to receive component quotations and timescales so things are moving forward again!

We’ve also had a few requests for more information on how Novo came about and our inspiration in creating our smart radiator valves. So for this week’s update we thought we’d provide some insight on who we are and where we come from.

Take a look at our blog here for this: http://srvplus.blogspot.co.uk/2018/02/who-is-novo.html

Thanks for your support!

Production update #3
about 6 years ago – Fri, Feb 16, 2018 at 11:26:55 PM

This has been an incredibly busy week.

Let me start with a bit of “not so good” news – we still don’t have the production completion date. The reason for this delay is bifold. On one hand, Chinese New Year that has just started means that most of the manufacturers in the far east have not been very quick with quotes and timescales.

The second is technical - a serial flash memory chip. We have just learned that the chip we use (3rd one already) has joined the previous two on the list of 30-weeks-lead-time components. Don’t worry though – this is just a small issue and there are at least 2 more manufacturers with the same spec chip. And then there are different spec chips that can be used with some firmware modifications…

Now to the good news. We have now officially moved to our new spacious office, unpacked and connected the super-fast internet. This means we will now operate at 200% of our normal development speed. The team has also been joined by no fewer than 4 developers – Tim, David, Oskars and Georges and will soon be joined by our Lead mechanical engineer – Al. The expansion continuous.

The software team is still working on their introductory post and an update on the software progress. It's going to be interesting so stay tuned.

We have scheduled a live Kickstarter session for next Thursday. Please spread the word about it – we would love to give a presentation to as many of you as possible.

Production update #2
about 6 years ago – Sat, Feb 10, 2018 at 12:16:15 AM

Hello Backers!

A quick update today. We have started a dedicated blog about engineering, entrepreneurship and life at Novo.

The blog also includes all the latest news from the production front. We plan to post 2 - 3 times a week, each time talking about different things and aspects of engineering. It should be the best and most up to date SRV news source and hopefully an interesting read.

Please check it out and if you like it - comment and share.
